- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 4 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. each cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg
- 1 cup currants or dates, chopped
- 1 cup raisins, chopped
- 1 cup any kind of nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 tablespoons bourbon, rum (or milk for the kiddies!)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream together butter and sugar, until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients and baking soda.
Stir in nuts, raisins and chopped currants or dates. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto silicone or parchment-lined baking sheets.
Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
